By continuing to investigate spatial and social perspectives through a re-creation of the natural world, I am currently treating specifics of our presence in this world as a microcosm with the use of birds and camouflage as the metaphor. The birds represent each of us by being all encompassing; they are both themselves and the world around them. They are in fact but a mirror to their surrounding, and therefore sit on the line between being unique and invisible. The birds are all at once alive and dead, caged and free.
Each bird is created from a paper mache shell straight from the headlines, stuffed with shredded documents and feathered with collaged nature scenery.
